Earth To Alex Jones
Last night I was flipping through the channels and happened to see local conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on the History Channel, though I must have missed this steaming pile of doggerel. In less than a minute he somehow manages to reveal his delusions of both grandeur and persecution by laying down the Galileo Gambit while simultaneously demonstrating his ignorance of history by getting it all spectacularly wrong. Just watch.
Earth to Alex Jones: You are not the center of the fucking universe.

Hi from an atheist in Killeen. I remember listening to Jones on one of the AM stations pre-2000. He was always a nutter, but I stopped listening to him after he went on his "prison planet" rants (calling SF soldiers "American SS"). I remember his talks on the black helicopters, chemtrails, concentration camps, and the like, all set to go off on 1 Jan 2000. Odd thing, after none of it happened, I never heard him on that station.
Given the History Channels history of giving such nutjobs serious consideration (like all their UFO or Bible stuff), I'm afraid to watch how they treat his delusions.
Jones was a big oponent of Clinton and has stood as a Republican candidate for state representative in Texas House District 48 in 2000,
futhermore Jones had previously been heavily involved with the rebulding of the Davidian cult church of David Coresh of Waco fame.
These facts alone place him squarely into a camp on the nutty christian right.
If anything Jones' agenda is as a spoiler of more reasonable investigation of what was at the very least mind boggling ineptitude by the bush administration, at most a 'pearl harbour like event' conspiracy.
Those infected by Jones' ideas are left unable to make good contribution on anything with any degree of seriousness as they are seen as the same kind of nut as he.
some things to consider.
Explosive demolition of a building is always done from the bottom up thus making use of gravity to assist collapse, although explosives may be placed futher up to weaken a building just prior to collapse.
if explosives were used, then how did they withstand the 1000 PLUS degree temperatures in the fire for so long ?
a typical building is comprised of about 70% air, 30% structure and furniture, a collapsing building would compress air below and force walls outwards in a mushroom like effect, windows below would be seen to explode as a result of such compressed air. his is seen in WTC and should not alone be used to infer explosive demolition.
explosives would have to be 'pre burned' into the steel, this means removing all insulating materials, walls etc. on many many floors what is more, it would take many months to prepare a buildings of this size in such a way..
demolition experts present at the scene and charged with removal of debris saw no evidence of explosive demolition in the 8 months of removal of the remains of the building. explosives leave very distinct 'cutting' marks. it is unlikely in the least that the army of demolition experts who were employed to remove the debris spotted no such evidence.
Jones is a nutter who obscures what might very well be a far nastier conspiracy by the witehouse to take America to wars where many more have lost their lives than on 9/11. However reading Alex Jones work provides the reader with less than a credible position and means that they end up being thought of as idiots.
Coupled with Jones' political views, it is more reasonable to suggest that Jones himself is part of a conspiracy to obscure very pertinent questions about the role of the whitehouse in taking the USA to Iraq, the CIA's links to arab nationalists, BCCI and strategic importance of a military campaign.
Jones withdrew from his campaign as a house representative for the republican party because was unwilling to say where his campaign funds came from! One needs to ask where his funding is coming from for the prominent position in the debates which are raging around 9/11, particularly as his chief role is as a spoiler and dstractor for the bush administration.
I agree Jones is a ranter and a tad eogtistical (or is that egotesticle?!) but he reports many FACTS buried by the mainstream. For this he should be thanked (if not praised:) I'm an atheist and am often put off by Christian, Gawd-loving speakers but Alex isn't so religious on his shows compared to most C. DJs. Don't shoot the messenger - that reminds me, his work on vaccinations and mercury is spot on IMO (after examining some REAL data).
Jones may be on a power trip but he means well, communicates well and highlights important news. He has examined all the issues covered on this page, not distracted from them. You can judge, just judge wisely!
